* Light is available for Certificate of Eligibility, change and extension applications for status of residence (work, spouse, dependent, student and Specified Skilled Worker). It is not available for Applications for Permission for Permanent Residence, Applications for Permission of Naturalization or Business Manager applications, or for high-difficulty cases.

High-difficulty cases (quoted individually; not covered by the refund guarantee)

Requests that fall under any of the following are quoted individually at the Standard Plan fee plus ¥33,000~¥55,000 (incl. tax; excl. tax ¥30,000~¥50,000). The work is the same as under the Standard Plan. If the application is denied, free re-application and refunds are not available (if denied, we do not charge the balance either). Before you engage us, we will show you in writing which item applies. For cases under ②, the express handling surcharge is not added on top.

① An application after an application filed by another office or by yourself was denied (or the certificate was not issued)

② An application filed within 2 weeks of the expiry of your period of stay or of the application deadline

③ An application that does not meet the educational requirement and shows the requirements through work experience alone

④ An application with unpaid or late payment of taxes, pension or social insurance premiums

⑤ A change of status of residence from Business Manager

⑥ An application by someone with a criminal record or a history of staying beyond the period of stay

⑦ An application for which we explained in writing at the consultation stage that the prospects of approval are low

Light cannot be selected for high-difficulty cases.

At our office, we adopt a transparent fee structure so that clients can engage us with complete peace of mind. There are, as a rule, no hidden costs not listed in this schedule and no additional billing after the fact.

We carefully listen to your situation, provide a quotation in advance, and only begin work after you have accepted the estimate.

* Our professional fees have been revised (for contracts signed on or after 7 October 2026).

Our Fee Policy

Our fee level

Our fees for status of residence applications (Certificate of Eligibility, change, extension and Permanent Residence) are set at a low level compared with the fees published by Gyoseishoshi (administrative scrivener) offices across Japan (our own survey, October 2026: compared with the fees published on the websites of 75 Gyoseishoshi offices nationwide [excl. tax, for the same scope of procedures]).

50% retainer; the balance after approval

50% of the fee (retainer) at contract signing; the remaining 50% plus out-of-pocket costs after approval. We file once the retainer is received — we do not wait for the balance.

Denied? Full refund guarantee (staged)

If your application is denied, we do not charge the balance. We then re-file free of charge (once under the Standard Plan, up to twice under the Premium Plan), and if it is still denied, we refund all fees you have paid, including the retainer (out-of-pocket costs excluded; exclusions apply). If the denial is caused by our office’s gross negligence, you may choose a full refund or a free re-application right away. Light Plan engagements, Self-Prep Course engagements and high-difficulty cases are not covered. See “Payment and what happens if your application is denied” below.

Chinese-language support

Our representative scrivener supports clients in business-level Chinese (with study experience at Northwest University, China). Clients from China and Taiwan can consult with us with full confidence.

Fees for Main Services

For procedures that can be filed online, such as applications for a Certificate of Eligibility, change of status of residence and extension of period of stay, we accept requests from clients nationwide. Meetings are held online (Google Meet, LINE) and documents are exchanged by mail or electronically, so there is no need to visit our office. Applications for Permission for Permanent Residence and for Permission of Naturalization cannot be filed online and must be submitted at the counter, so they are limited to residents of Miyazaki Prefecture. Depending on the procedure and its urgency, you may need to collect your Residence Card at the counter of the immigration office covering the area where you live. Online applications cannot be filed on the last day of your period of stay, so please consult us as early as possible.

All prices are shown as the total (incl. tax, including 10% consumption tax), with the excl. tax amount in parentheses. Click each item for details.

Free Immigration Pre-Submission Check

For those who will apply for a status of residence at the Immigration Services Bureau by themselves. Before you submit, we check your application form and supporting documents and tell you about any missing documents and points to watch. We accept checks online (Google Meet, about 20 minutes) or via LINE.

・Eligible: applications for a Certificate of Eligibility, change of status of residence and extension of period of stay (applications for permanent residence are accepted only from residents of Miyazaki Prefecture). Naturalization is not covered.

・Online (Google Meet): once per application. Replies via LINE: available for the same application until you submit it.

・Our guideline for replies via LINE is, in principle, within 2 business days (we are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays; replies may take longer when we are busy).

・Please send copies of your documents by LINE or email. For your residence card, send the front side only; please do not send the side showing your My Number.

・What we tell you is our office’s opinion. It does not guarantee approval; the outcome depends on the decision of the Immigration Services Bureau.

・We only point out missing documents and points to watch. We do not prepare or rewrite your application documents for you or draft text for them, and we do not tell you whether your application is likely to be approved (if you would like to engage us, we will introduce the Self-Prep Course, the Light Plan and the Standard Plan).

・If we find that a document contains information that is not true, or that the application is not your own (or a family member’s), we will decline the check.

Book a Free Immigration Pre-Submission CheckApply via LINEApply via WhatsApp

You can also apply via WhatsApp. On WhatsApp, we accept only your application message. If you apply via WhatsApp, the check is held online (Google Meet); after you contact us, we will explain how to book a time. Please send copies of your documents by email (we do not accept documents via WhatsApp).

When you receive the explanation of the reasons for the denial at Immigration (Miyazaki Branch Office, Fukuoka Regional Immigration Services Bureau), our Administrative Scrivener Authorized to File Applications attends with you and conveys the officer’s explanation to you. We can support most languages. Japanese and Chinese are conveyed on the spot; other languages, including English, are conveyed after the explanation using a translation device (a translation device can convey only an outline. If you want to confirm the details, please come with an interpreter. Interpreter fees are borne by you). We will give you the key points of the explanation in writing.

・The explanation of the reasons is given to the applicant. The applicant must attend (please make the appointment yourself).

・The content and level of detail of the officer’s explanation are at the discretion of Immigration.

・After the explanation, we will explain the prospects for re-application, the procedure and our fees as a consultation (up to 60 minutes, free of charge). The accompaniment and the consultation are separate services.

・If you ask us to handle the re-application within 7 days of the accompaniment, the accompaniment fee is included in the re-application fee and is not charged separately. If we cannot accept the case under our acceptance criteria, the accompaniment fee is not charged either. If you do not ask us to handle it, please complete the payment procedure on the day of the accompaniment (card / convenience store payment [within 3 days] / bank transfer [within 7 days]).

・Re-applications after an application filed by another office or by yourself was denied are quoted individually as high-difficulty cases (not covered by refunds or free re-application).

・Miyazaki Branch Office only. Transportation within Miyazaki Prefecture is included.

・If we cannot attend with you because of your circumstances or those of the Branch Office, no accompaniment fee is charged.

・For applications we assisted with, this is included in your contract fee.

Payment and what happens if your application is denied

Fees are paid in two installments: 50% of the fee (retainer) at contract signing and the remaining 50% plus out-of-pocket costs after approval (or issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility). Once the retainer is received and the documents are given final confirmation, we file promptly — we do not wait for the balance. After approval, we hand over your residence card without waiting for the balance. The Certificate of Eligibility is handed over once the balance is received.

If a denial is caused by a document deficiency or procedural error due to our office’s gross negligence, you may choose a full refund or a free re-application without waiting for a re-filing.

In any other case of denial, we do not charge the balance. We then re-file free of charge — once under the Standard Plan and up to twice under the Premium Plan (out-of-pocket costs such as application and translation fees are charged separately). If the application is still denied after re-filing, we refund all fees you have paid, including the retainer (excluding out-of-pocket costs such as application and translation fees).

The same applies to naturalization: after the free re-applications your plan provides (Standard: one; Premium: two), if the application is still denied, we do not charge the balance and refund all fees you have paid, including the retainer (excluding out-of-pocket costs).

Denial caused by a document deficiency or procedural error due to our office’s gross negligence Without waiting for a re-filing, full refund or free re-application (out-of-pocket costs charged separately), at your choice
Any other denial
(Standard Plan and Premium Plan engagements [excluding high-difficulty cases])
The balance is not charged. Free re-application (Standard: once; Premium: twice; out-of-pocket costs charged separately), and if still denied, all fees paid, including the retainer, are refunded (excluding out-of-pocket costs)
Naturalization Handled the same way (free re-applications per your plan; then, if still denied, no balance is charged and all fees paid are refunded, excluding out-of-pocket costs)

The following are excluded from refunds and free re-applications: false statements or concealment of unfavorable facts; failure to cooperate, such as not providing required documents; objective factors on your side such as a criminal record, unpaid taxes or social insurance premiums, or a past overstay; circumstances beyond either party’s control, such as a change in law or practice after filing; loss of cooperation from a third party such as a guarantor or sponsoring organization; choosing not to re-apply when re-application is possible, or withdrawing before a decision; and cases where we explained in writing (by e-mail) at the consultation stage that the prospects were low and you chose to apply anyway. Statement-of-reasons drafting only is also excluded. Light Plan and Self-Prep Course engagements and high-difficulty cases (list) are not covered by refunds or free re-applications (if the application is denied, we do not charge the balance; if the denial is caused by our office’s gross negligence, you may choose a full refund or a free re-application).

If you withdraw an application after filing for reasons on your side, settlement is governed by Article 10 of the Service Agreement.

At the consultation stage, we give you our honest assessment of the likelihood of approval and do not take on cases with little or no prospect of approval. Everything filed with the Immigration Services Agency stays on record, and once an application is denied, the next one is checked against the previous filing. This is why we build the documents and the reasoning thoroughly from the very first application. Even when a Gyoseishoshi (administrative scrivener) who files applications on your behalf (Shinsei-toritsugi) handles the case, approval is not guaranteed. Details are governed by the Service Agreement (Articles 4, 7 and 10, and Annex 1, Section 4).

FAQ

When do I pay?

Fees are paid in two installments: 50% of the fee (retainer) at contract signing and the remaining 50% plus out-of-pocket costs after approval. Once the retainer is received and the documents are given final confirmation, we file promptly — we do not wait for the balance. If the application is denied, the balance is not charged.

If my application is denied, will I receive a refund?

If your application is denied, we do not charge the balance. We then re-file free of charge — once under the Standard Plan, up to twice under the Premium Plan (out-of-pocket costs such as application and translation fees charged separately) — and if it is still denied, we refund all fees you have paid, including the retainer (out-of-pocket costs excluded). The same applies to naturalization (after the free re-applications your plan provides). If the denial is caused by our office’s gross negligence, you may choose a full refund or a free re-application without waiting for a re-filing.

See Articles 4, 7 and 10 and Annex 1, Section 4 of the Service Agreement for details.

What about procedures not listed in this fee schedule?

For procedures not listed or for cases with special circumstances, we will provide a quotation in advance. We only begin work after you have accepted the estimate, so there are no surprise charges. Please feel free to consult us.

Is the first consultation free?

The first consultation is free of charge for up to 60 minutes via online (web conferencing). For companies in Miyazaki Prefecture, we can also visit you for the first consultation, free of charge for up to 60 minutes. The free consultation covers an explanation of the likelihood of approval, the procedure flow and our fees, as well as a review and correction of application documents you have prepared yourself (the Free Immigration Pre-Submission Check is also free: online, once per application and about 20 minutes; replies via LINE, for the same application until you submit it and limited to checking). A second or subsequent consultation is charged (single-session consultation). Consultations about the work after you engage us are included in the fee for your request. If it exceeds 60 minutes, or if you want detailed advice without an obligation to engage us, please use our single-session consultation (60 min, ¥11,000 incl. tax / ¥10,000 excl. tax).

Are you ready for the immigration fee increases from October 2026?

Yes. For applications accepted on or after 1 October 2026, the fees for Change of Status of Residence, Extension of Period of Stay and Permanent Residence increased. Change and extension cost ¥10,000-¥75,000 depending on the period of stay granted (¥10,000-¥65,000 if filed online), and Permanent Residence costs ¥200,000. Applications accepted on or before 30 September 2026 are charged the previous fees, even if permission is granted in October or later (based on the date of acceptance). Note that these are out-of-pocket fees payable to the Immigration Services Agency; you bear the actual amount separately from our professional fee. Our professional fee is fixed at the rate in effect when you sign the contract, and later revisions do not apply retroactively.
